Pay Attention

Empowerment: The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.

How can you start to empower yourself right now? In my opinion it’s very simple. You can start to pay attention. Start paying attention to everything. Everything you say, do, think, eat, drink, create, and perhaps even avoid and resist.

Most people don’t realize the power of paying attention. They underestimate the value of noticing and observing one’s self with curiosity instead of with judgement and criticism.

Once you start paying attention you can choose to change. We all have the power to create change right now! How empowering is that?

Ask yourself these questions…

What’s going really well right now for you in your life?

Where are you the happiest and most satisfied in your life?

What habits and routines are you committed to in that area of your life that are causing things to go so well?

Get crystal clear on your answers.

What’s NOT going very well right now for you in your life?

Where are you feeling stress, tension, disconnect, and dissatisfaction?

What habits and routines are you committed to that’s blocking your success in these areas of your life?

Get crystal clear on your answer here as well.

We are all surrounded with the opportunity to make hundreds of choices all day long. We just often don’t even realize it. We’re on autopilot. We go through the day, allowing our strong held patterns and routines to guide the way without much thought. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to take ownership and personal responsibility for each and every choice we make!

Here are some simple examples of the multitude of choices we have in front of us each and every day…

Sleep: Stay up watching TV, scrolling through our phones, squeezing in more work emails and getting less than optimal rest OR choose to create an evening routine that allows us the luxury of getting into bed to ensure 7+ hours of sleep each night?

Breakfast: Bagel and cream cheese OR eggs and spinach?

Entertainment: Browse social media OR choose an inspiring podcast or book to read instead?

Activity: Meet your friend at the bar to catch up over a drink OR choose to meet up with that same friend and take a lovely walk  while catching up and squeeze in some extra steps and some sunshine?

Are you starting to understand what I’m saying?

Once we start to pay attention, we can choose to change...but only if we want to!

Do you find yourself complaining there’s never enough time? Never enough money? Never enough energy to accomplish all there is to do?

I encourage you to start paying attention to where you spend your time, energy, and money.

You may be surprised at what you find! You may not realize you spend more time than you'd like squandering your precious life on old habits and outdated routines that no longer serve you.

Did you know you can actually choose to ditch some of those heavy habits you’ve been carrying around?

I truly believe that we all have the ability to feel empowered by simply committing to paying attention. Take ownership of your choices. And know that by NOT choosing to make a change is a choice too. Whatever you’re not changing, you’re choosing.

Your entire life can really change in a very short amount of time. You just have to learn to love yourself enough to know you deserve more, be brave enough to demand more, and then learn to be disciplined enough to actually work for more.

You have the power to create change right now. How empowering is that?
